Visit some of the popular viewing spots - at Kennett River & Bimbi Park, Cape Otway. If you’re on the lookouts, try casting your eyes upwards – you’ll generally find a Koala wedged in the nook of a tree branch and most often fast asleep.

Koalas in the Otways
Koalas love to eat and sleep. They can often be found in the Otways and around the Great Ocean Road Region. Great spots to look for them include Cape Otway , Kennett River, Wye River, Wongarra and Lorne.
Kennett River Koala Walk
Kennett River has a large population and the best way to spot them is to take a leisurely stroll along the Grey River Road. The walk winds through Manna Gum forest – the koalas preferred diet – and is a great way to connect with nature.

Cape Otway
One of the best locations for koala spotting include Cape Otway just off the Great Ocean Road west of Apollo Bay - remember to find a safe place to park before stopping to view as the road can be busy with road traffic with travellers visiting the Cape Otway Lightstation.
