Where To Find Waterfalls Apollo Bay

The best place to find waterfalls near Apollo Bay is in the Great Otway National Park. The Great Otways National Park is a cool temperate rainforest and because it has one of the highest rainfalls in the state the waterfalls in the Park flow all year round. Waterfalls in Apollo Bay waiting for you to discover them at the Great Otway National Park include:

Hopetoun Falls

The walk to the pool at the base of Hopetoun falls is a 1km moderate level trek that takes approximately 30 minutes. The falls can also be viewed from a viewing platform which is only 20 metres from the carpark.

Beauchamp Falls

The walk to this spectacular 20-metre waterfall is 3km (return) and takes about an hour. The walk requires a reasonable amount of fitness and can be strenuous, in particular on the way back as it is steep and can also be slippery.

Triplet Falls

The 2km (return) moderate level walk to Triplet Falls takes approximately one hour (note: the walk is not suited to those with limited mobility). These waterfalls near Apollo Bay are one of the most iconic sites in the Great Otway National Park. On the walk to these magnificent falls you will spot majestic Mountain Ash trees (estimated to be around 200 years old), Myrtle Beech trees and you will also walk past the site of Knott's #1 Mill.

Stevenson’s Falls

The walk to these waterfalls in Apollo Bay is considered an easy level and you have two options to choose from. There is a 500m return short walk (20min) or a 4.6km return long walk (1.5 hours). The longer walk takes you to a viewing platform at the base of the falls.

Little Aire Falls

The moderate level walk to these Apollo Bay waterfalls takes about 2 hours and is 5km long (return). You will see Mountain Ash trees and fern gullies on the walk and there is a cantilevered viewing platform to view the falls from.

Carisbrook Falls

The easy to moderate walk to Carisbrook Falls takes about 20 minutes and is 1km long (return). These Apollo Bay waterfalls are one of the highest waterfalls along the Great Ocean Road and if you visit after heavy rainfall, you’ll see them at their best.
